Locals and visitors are invited to celebrate  an "Egg-cellent Easter on the Wharf" on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Old Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey. 

This annual event  showcases festive Easter décor throughout the weekend for fun photo ops plus a new contest.

New this year is the Old Fisherman’s Wharf's Best Dressed Easter Costume Pet Photo Contest. 

Is your pet "egg-stra" adorable in their Easter best? 

To enter this year's photo contest, please submit via email a photo of  You with your Pet in their Easter costume.

Enter no later than Monday, April 21, 2025 at Midnight for a chance to win one of three Wharf Dollars prizes that can be used at any business on Old Fisherman’s Wharf.

Note: Anyone can enter this contest as the photo does not have to be taken at the Wharf if that's not possible.

Entries will be judged on cuteness and creativity.

Include “Easter Pet Contest” in the subject line and email the photo of you with your well-dressed pet to [email protected]

Indicate if your photo can be shown on social media.

  • First Place: $100 in Wharf Dollars
  • Second Place: $50 in Wharf Dollars
  • Third Place: $25 in Wharf Dollars

Many Wharf merchants will feature special Easter-themed items, including sweet confections for sale from Candy World, Carousel Candies, and Wharf Chocolate Factory, as well as seasonal specials and gifts in the shops. 

Founded in 1960 and celebrating its 65th anniversary, Carousel Candies’ Easter confections will include blue, pink, white and yellow chocolate bunnies (including sugar-free chocolate bunnies), homemade rocky road eggs, peanut butter, chocolate fudge and vanilla nut eggs and marshmallow Peeps. Candy World will have an assortment of chocolate eggs for patrons. Wharf Chocolate Factory will offer colorful marshmallow chick Peeps.

Some restaurants on the Wharf will also offer a special Easter menu, and there are fun whale watching, fishing trips, sailing, and glass bottom boat tours as well.
